You cannot monitor twins in the same cot, the reason being that the Sensor Pad is that sensitive it will pick up the movements from both babies. The Sensor Pad is designed to detect movement and it cannot differentiate which baby the movement is coming from.
This would mean that if there was no movement detected for example from baby 1, the monitor will not alarm as the Sensor Pad will still be detecting movement from baby 2.
In addition you cannot use more than one Sensor Pad in the cot (i.e. one pad under each baby) as the pad is that sensitive it can detect movement over the whole of the surface of the mattress, from corner to corner and not just baby lying above it.
To explain the alarm to you – with one Sensor Pad in a cot with one baby, if no movement is detected on the surface of the mattress for 20 seconds you will hear the:
• Main Alarm – this is a series of loud continuous beeps from both the Nursery/Camera Unit & Parent Unit (if switched on). This indicates that your monitor has not re-established your baby’s sleeping pattern.
You can use a simple combination of Angelcare monitors for twins, however it is not possible to connect 2 monitors together whatever the model, they will independently of each other. You would need 2 separate monitors.
Lastly and also importantly - unfortunately it is not recommended you use more than one/and/or the following Angelcare Monitors in the same house/apartment/flat:
Also, unfortunately it is not recommended you use more than one/and/or the following Angelcare Monitors in the same house/apartment/flat:
Angelcare AC1100 Video, Movement & Sound Monitor
Angelcare AC1300 Video, Wired Movement & Sound Monitor
Angelcare AC315 Video, Wired Movement & Sound Monitor
Angelcare AC417 Video, Wireless Movement & Sound Monitor
Angelcare AC517 Video, Wireless Movement & Sound Monitor
Angelcare AC215 Video, Movement & Sound Baby Monitor
This is because these monitors work on a Digital Frequency so they automatically pick the best channel to work on. Therefore if you are using more than one in the same house, the monitors can interfere will each other and as a result may not function properly i.e. the signal on one monitor can drop out and you will lose the display and sound.
However, you can use any one of the above video range with any of the following monitors - however you do not have the video option on this range:
Angelcare AC401/AC401 Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor/Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor Deluxe
Angelcare AC403 Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor
Angelcare AC601 Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor
Angelcare AC117 Wireless Movement & Sound Baby Monitor
Angelcare AC115 Wired Movement & Sound Baby Monitor
For the different features between these and all current Angelcare Monitors please see the attached document that lists each feature per model.
The different features are clearly marked and you can tick off any that you do not actually want to help you to make the decision about the particular model that you feel is best for you.
