We have looked at the Clevamama Mattress and unfortunately, we would not recommend the use of the Sensor Pad this particular mattress, as this could mask the movements of your baby and as a result you may experience false alarms.
This is due to the high Reflex Support Foam detailed in the composition of the mattress as below from their website:
As we are not the mattress manufacturer we are unable to confirm if the “reflux support foam” composition is of the same type of composition as memory foam.
With regards to the actual mattresses, we know that the Sensor Pad will work effectively with a standard hypoallergenic, spring, coir (and spring/coir combined) mattress.
We also know that the Sensor Pad will NOT work with a Hollow Framed, Dual Sided, Memory Foam Mattress;
A Hollow Framed Mattress is mainly a US product, it is basically a number of poles that are fitted together with a tight cover fitted over this. As a result of there being nothing actually inside the mattress (hollow) no movement is transferred down to the Sensor Pad, and the monitor may false alarm indicating that baby's movements are not being detected by the Sensor Pad.
A full Memory Foam or Dual sided Memory Foam Mattress masks the movement of your baby on the surface of the mattress due to the density of the foam and baby's movements do not transfer down to the Sensor Pad. As a result the monitor may false alarm indicating that baby's movement is not being detected by the Sensor Pad.
We hope that you can understand that unfortunately it is not possible to test the Sensor Pad with this mattress or every type, brand of mattress available within North America due firstly to the sheer volume of mattresses available. Secondly, because we do know that many manufacturers, brands will change the internal composition on a regular basis with no notification to improve the product and also at times for cost reasons.
It would be impossible to monitor constant internal changes/modifications and therefore we cannot recommend any particular brand for use with the Sensor Pad.
Therefore we would suggest when purchasing any mattress for your baby that you take the above points into consideration and if you are unsure of the internal composition of any mattress to contact the retailer/manufacturer for clarification.
We hope that this information helps, if you need any further advice please do let us know.
