Whilst we test our monitors for many situations and homes around the world unfortunately, sometimes they just do not operate in some homes.
Out of Range situations can be caused by such things as too much distance between the Parent Unit and Nursery/Camera Unit, thick walls between the Parent Unit and Nursery/Camera Unit or even a number of dividing walls in between the Parent and Nursery Unit.
The signal can also be weaker at times and this can also cause the Out of Range Indicator to come on. However the strength of the signal is not something that you can boost.
Unfortunately the 2.4GHz frequency your monitor operates on is becoming “busier” as more and more wireless products are populating this frequency, people liken it to a 3 lane motorway usually at peak time, its gets congested.
We do know that some users change the frequency that the router is operating on to bypass any interference as these also generally operate on the 2.4GHz frequency that your monitor is operating on.
In the event however that the cause lies with the monitor we would like to offer a replacement Nursery/Camera Unit, if the cause lies with the monitor it will resolve this.
Do let us know if you would like us to proceed and also include the following information:
• The Batch/Lot Number. This is located on the underneath of the Parent Unit, Nursery Unit and the Sensor Pad on a small white label
• Proof of purchase, receipt showing the date and product. We can accept a picture/photo clearly showing the date, product & retailer if this is easier for you
• Your full name, address and a contact number
This will enable us to process your query.
1 meter distance between NU & Cot
Thank you for contacting the helpline with your query.
The Nursery/Camera Unit must be at least 1 metre away from your baby's cot for cord safety reasons, this has no bearing on the monitor functions itself.
The Angelcare Sensor Pad cord must always be kept out of reach and safely secured using the cord cover kit provided with the monitor. This is as per the safety set-up information included within the manual supplied with your monitor.
If you are unable to locate your manual or for advice on setting up the Sensor Pad using the Cord Cover Kit click here to be directed the Angelcare UK website. Copies of all manuals can be viewed/downloaded for advice.
All cords (including lamps, nightlights, monitors, fans etc) must be safely out of your baby's reach, at no point must your baby be able to reach out of the cot and touch/grab any cords.
