Firstly we do have to advise that the AC601 monitor is not a continuous sound unit; it is ‘Sound Activated’. This means that it will transmit sounds only when it detects them.
There are 3 sound levels on your monitor, the highest level (level 3) is the loudest. This is adjusted on the Parent Unit ON/OFF switch, the higher the switch the higher the sound level.
When music is being played if the decibels don’t change for 10 seconds the sound will cut off to save power. Once a different sound is then detected the sound activated will kick in.
To test this if sound is being detected when music/a radio (not lullaby’s as the decibels do not change as this is soothing music) is being played, if the decibels don’t change for 10 seconds the sound will cut off to save power.
You do need to ensure that your monitor is on the maximum microphone sensitivity on the Nursery Unit.
The sound lights on the front of the Parent Unit will rise and fall to indicate sound is being detected and these sounds will be heard through the speaker on the Parent Unit.
Whether you are monitoring Sound & Movement with the TIC on/off OR just Sound Only in order for your baby`s sounds to be heard through the Parent Unit you MUST:
- With the Parent & Nursery Unit ON ensure that the channel (A, B or C) on left wing of the Nursery Unit needs is set to the same channel selection (A, B or C) as the button on the left side of the Parent Unit
Please Note: If the Parent Unit and Nursery Unit are set to different channels the sound lights on the Parent Unit will not rise and your baby`s sounds will be NOT be transmitted through the speaker on the Parent Unit.
