The Nursery/Camera Unit MUST always be placed at least 1m away from baby’s cot – at no point should baby be able to reach out and touch any cords. This is the same for any nightlights, lamps, blinds etc in the room/nursery.
Any Movement Monitor with or without a Sensor Pad cord where present MUST always be set-up as per the instructions provided within the user guide.
In addition to this, when monitoring movement, the bedside crib would need to be 30cm away from your bed, static and ALL cords must be routed away from baby through the base of the crib.
The crib must not be in contact with or attached to your bed when monitoring baby’s movements.
The Angelcare Sensor Pad is very clever, it is designed to detect baby’s movement and NOT their breathing. If the bedside crib is attached to/touching your bed the monitor may not alarm if needed – it cannot distinguish if the movement it is detecting is from baby or you.
This is the same for any form of movement that the pad can detect such as by a fan, a mobile attached to the cot, a cot in rocking motion, draughts, another person touching the cot, radiator pipes etc.
We recommend that you proceed to the 4 corner test to adjust the sensitivity of the Sensor Pad according to the conditions of your baby's room.
